The Institute conducts extensive research in the field of cell biology and biomedicine, based on the use of advanced cell and tissue culture techniques, including three-dimensional cultures on tissue scaffolds reflecting the complexity of the extracellular matrix, or complex organotypic co-cultures. Research is conducted using an established cell line model.

The MIMT collection includes well-characterized stromal and neoplastic cell lines, including human and murine osteoblasts (HOB and MC3T3-E1, respectively), bone marrow progenitor cells, human osteosarcoma lines (Saos-2, MG63, U2 OS), canine osteosarcoma line. D17.

The Institute conducts research in the field of assessment of the basic cytophysiological parameters of cells based on cytometric techniques, metabolic and cytotoxic tests.
